In Gujarat, the police was used by BJP. In Manipur, the Indian army was.

A real shame. But, Indian institutions are now beyond all shame.,

National power is meant to be used and gets used very frequently all over the World. That is probably the only reason why people risk life & limb to be at the very Helm. There is no denying healthy opposition helps.

True in theory and as a general idea. But using power to shoot an innocent girl with hands tied behind, or help mobs torch civilian localities (Gujarat), and to not help the helpless only due to political compulsions (Manipur), is use of power for personal benefit. Illegitimate.

Today, a legitimate use of national power in India would be to take back POK or the land lost to China.

I agree substantially. Criminal Acts must be dealt with as Criminal Cases. Ascribing motive without clear evidence and presuming intent or intension is difficult to prove in a Court of Law. And that is where all criminal prosecution would be decided/ finalised. India conveniently has adopted a Difficult Process. Plea Bargaining is not possible. Trails are Laborious and Stretched. The process is the punishment and not the punishment per se. Life Imprisonment actually means about 10 years in Jail for Murder - of which there are many shades - Since jail terms run concurrently jail is factually ineffective. Independence spawned two similar yet diverse systems. Pakistan today is using Military Courts to address it's issues!

We have an extremely irresponsive system in place. And I feel it is deliberately so. Majority of Our Top 50/ 100 Lawyers at one point in time were helping formulate the Law, took advantage of their Law to secure political Office and then were making huge fortunes defending against the same law they helped legislate. Do you see the irony of it all. Faugis in comparison are simple souls trying to correct each and every problem. POK and Pakistan will fall if we concentrate on our strengths and just manage our weaknesses. Military Power is a Diplomatic Tool for the very Final Solution. Best delayed & sparingly used. Best wishes.

Maybe we’re digressing. We were at use of national power.

National power must be used for purposes of nation. Indian parliament has taken a pledge to take back POK about 30 years back. Indian parliament has not taken pledges like ‘we’’ll improve per capita income by 20% in 3 years’ but took this stupid, undoable, one,. This government gets votes only on manufactured image of muscularity.,So, go on, use power to do so. Use diplomatic strengths, or whatever, to achieve agreed national goals.

As for Indian institutions totally working towards goals of BJP, not India, is accepted world wide, even if not provable in court. Such things are never provable. And if they go against the interests of those who have the power to offer a Rajya sabha seat to the CJI, they definitely can’t be.

My book - The Red pill on India and Indian Army 2023 - at Amazon, elaborates on this.

I am a poor man, I shall try and get a copy and Read it. Someone who can study and understand the problem in its entirety and offer a workable solution is unlikely to become the Chief. He would simply not have the Time to Network; you would agree in any large organisation pure technical Skill alone does not mean much. Maybe that is the reason generalists who can manage conflict contradictions or find conclude compromise solutions reach the very Top better than specialists. It is extremely encouraging to see Our Faugis expressing their opinions thoughts idea strongly. With best wishes.
